For this project Cellar Ridge worked with our client to design a new addition and remodel of their old home. The final structure will include a larger kitchen and great room , an expanded master suite and a new bath. This was accomplished by alternating between demolition and framing to tie in the new addition's roof and interior walls with the existing wall. The Cellar Ridge team used a lot of creativity on the job site to complete the framing. True to our mission, several green features were included in this project. All the scrap wood in this project was recycled, the old, cement tile roof was reclaimed, as were the kitchen cabinets and solar atrium from the old house. Solar tubes add increased daylight, while removing an old skylight increased the tightness of the envelope. New, low U value windows, and sealed electrical and plumbing penetrations will help with the energy efficiency of this new building.
