This small cabin built shortly after World War II was slowly sinking into the sand of Tierra Del Mar just North of Pacific City when the homeowners purchased it this fall. They came to Cellar Ridge because of our history of saving older homes that need new foundations. This project got more exciting when the homeowners asked us to add a second story to the house. Rather than adding the second floor to the top we decided to add the new structure below the existing house. Working with our house lifting contractor we raised the house more than 13 feet off the ground. This is allowing us to add a new first floor while preserving the historic structure, including the roof and roofing.
